Cobra Jet Intake Manifold Installation Package
Installing a Cobra Jet intake manifold on a Mustang is a common upgrade that many
Mustang enthusiasts choose to do to improve their car's performance. The Cobra Jet
intake manifold is designed to increase airflow into the engine, which can lead to a
significant increase in horsepower and torque.
Before you begin the installation process, you will need to gather the necessary tools
and parts. You will need the Cobra Jet intake manifold itself, as well as a new throttle
body, fuel injectors, fuel rails, and gaskets. You will also need a torque wrench, socket
set, and other basic hand tools.
Here are the general steps you will need to follow to install a Cobra Jet intake
manifold on a Mustang:
1. Disconnect the battery: Before starting any work on the car, you should disconnect
the battery to avoid any electrical mishaps.
2. Remove the old intake manifold: Start by removing the old intake manifold, throttle
body, and fuel rails. You will also need to remove the old fuel injectors and replace
them with the new ones.
3. Install the new components: Install the new Cobra Jet intake manifold, throttle
body, and fuel rails. Use the provided gaskets and torque the bolts to the
manufacturer's specifications.
4. Reconnect the electrical components: Reconnect all the electrical components that
were disconnected during the removal process.
5. Refill the coolant and oil: Refill the coolant and oil that were drained during the
removal process.
6. Test the car: You may need to adjust the tune or make other modifications to
optimize performance. After the installation is complete, start the car and check for
any leaks or issues.
Here's the parts list you'll need!
1. Cobra Jet Intake Manifold.
2. Twin 69 throttle body.
3. Throttle body extension harness.
4. Cobra specific cai & 30" - 1/2" crank vent hose
5. Relocate or Aftermarket coolant tank to clear cai tube
6. ID Speed Custom Programming
7. Engine lowering mounts/brackets or aftermarket hood for clearance
8. 30" - 3/8" fuel hose for brake booster to manifold & pcv valve to manifold
For cleaner install add:
1- M8xM6 step stud for pcv valve mounting
4- M6x20mm & 4- M6x15mm bolts for fuel rail isolator/coolant hose hanger
5- M6 flare nuts
4 - M6x30mm coupling nuts
PS side blank plate
Lowered engine 1/2" and I don't think it had any touching at all ill pop hood at lunch too
and see if looks like rubbing any.
